Welcome to our FAQ! If you’re here, it probably means you’re getting ready to adopt a new little friend into your home, or you’re just curious!

Here’s everything you might want to know, and more!

  • What materials do you use?

    All dolls are handmade using soft, high-quality fabrics such as cotton, canvas, linen, and felt. They’re filled with premium Poly-Fil polyester fibre.

    Every face is hand-embroidered and all finishing touches are done with care to give each doll its own personality.

    All fabrics are prewashed, seams on the dolls are double-stitched.

    Our home includes a few furry assistants (dogs and cats, including Violet herself!). While I do my best with a lint roller, an occasional pet hair may sneak in.

     

    Are the dolls safe for children?

    Yes! All dolls are designed for children ages 3+. Details are securely sewn or embroidered, making them suitable for gentle play and everyday cuddles.

    Adult supervision is still strongly suggested for all play sessions, and the responsible adult should inspect the doll regularly for loose stitches, threads, or parts and remove any damaged pieces immediately.

    These dolls are handmade items, not commercially mass-produced toys, and have not undergone commercial toy safety testing.

    While I do my best to make sure that all safety standards in Canada and Australia are met, some aspects might still not be up to standards.

    Can the dolls be washed?

    We recommend spot cleaning only with mild soap and a damp cloth. It is not recommended to machine wash, soak, or tumble dry. If damp, please allow the doll and items to air dry completely before storing or using.

    Do you take custom orders?

    Customs may open a few times a year depending on my schedule (because no, this is not my full time job).

  • How often do you release new dolls?

    Mini-drops and limited editions appear every few weeks or months. Some designs may return, while others disappear into the archives forever. If a doll speaks to your heart, adopt it quickly!

    Can I reserve or hold a doll?

    To keep things fair for everyone, reservations and holds are not available.

    Do dolls sell out quickly?

    Some do — especially during limited releases.

    Signing up for the newsletter or following on Instagram is the best way to stay updated.

    Can I buy more than one doll?

    Yes, unless a limit is announced for a specific drop.

  • Where do you ship?

    Shipping is available across Canada and Australia only at this time.

    How much is shipping?

    Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on your location and the weight of your order.

    How long is processing time

    It usually take me between 3 to 7 days to complete an order as I do this on my spare time (before and after my day job).

    During busy seasons or after a big drop, processing may take a little longer.

    How long does shipping take?

    Typical delivery times:

    • Canada: 3–7 business days

    • International: 10–30 business days

    Delays can be extended depending on the carrier’s situation or busy seasons.

    Will I receive tracking?

    Yes, all orders ship with a tracking number.

    Do you offer local pickup?

    No, online orders only.

  • Do you accept returns or exchanges?

    Because each doll is handmade and unique, returns and exchanges are not accepted unless the item arrives damaged.

    What if my doll arrives damaged?

    Please contact me within 24 hours with photos of the packaging and the doll.

    I will gladly help with a repair or replacement depending on the situation.

    Can I cancel my order?

    Orders may be cancelled within the first 12 hours, as long as they haven’t been started or shipped.

    I entered the wrong address, what do I do?

    Please contact me immediately!

    If the order hasn’t shipped, I can update the address.

    After shipping, changes aren’t possible and no refund can be processed, so please take the time to enter the correct information at checkout.

  • How does my purchase support Violet?

    Every penny that doesn’t go toward materials (fabric, stuffing, thread, boxes, etc.) goes directly toward Violet’s medical needs:

    • daily medication

    • surgeries

    • treatments

    • rehabilitation

    • ongoing care

    Who is Violet?

    Violet is a rescue pup we adopted from Humane Society, who was found at 5 weeks old on the side of the highway. She has several lifelong medical conditions which require multiple major surgeries, ongoing care and a lot of love and patience. Even with all her conditions, she brings joy, determination, silliness (and a tiny bit of complaining) to our home every day!

    She is the inspiration behind The Violet Lemon and the reason this magical little world exists. You can find more details on who she is on our “Our Story” page.
