As soon as we saw her face on the Humane Society, that was it. We knew she was coming home with us, no matter what!

Since we adopted her, it’s been quite the journey.

Violet has a chronic bladder condition (which means daily medication for life), major issues with her two front legs, and her back knees and hips are joining the party too! She just a puppy, but physically, she’s like a 20-year-old dog—no cartilage, arthritis everywhere, trouble walking, and she can’t even manage more than three or four stairs.

Because of it all, we had to meet with a specialized surgeon to know what her next steps were, to make sure she could live the best life. As soon as I met with the surgeon, she told me we “got ourselves a real lemon” and the name simply stuck. The Violet Lemon became a symbol of resilience, joy, and the ability to find light even in difficult situations.

She’s become a real role model, in her own furry way. She doesn’t let anything stop her. She’s the happiest little pup, always full of energy, wagging her tail, demanding cuddles every chance she gets, and acting like everything’s fine. She’s a real warrior, this one.

At first, I started making dolls for family and friends just to help pay for her first major surgery, but it quickly grew into something more. I started with patterns I had purchased, but I quickly grew the need to make my own. And here we are today!

Every doll is made by hand with love, passion, and probably a bit of dog love. Every penny that isn’t spent on fabric, thread, boxes, or materials goes toward Violet’s care, surgeries, medication, and rehab. This is why it makes every doll a very unique and impactfull doll.

Violet is my inspiration day after day. The way that she keeps playing with her brother despite the pain, and how she continues to make us laugh day after day with her silliness, brings so much joy and magic into our home. I simply had to channel that same sense of wonder and warmth she inspires into those amazing dolls.

Each design is meant to bring softness with a touch of magic, crafted to be a lifelong companion rather than just a toy. Every doll is a reminder that beauty often begins in the most unexpected moments.
